Apart from a remarkably loud voice, Mr. Bean has no teaching qualifications that I can recognize. His management class is a platform to tell old stories: He's very eager to talk about his illustrious career in "upper management" (pretend you're impressed). It's also an exercise in stenography: 100% of your grade is from open-note exams. So repeat his words precisely and you'll get an A. He doesn't give points for creativity or critical thinking; so just don't. He takes off points for spelling, grammar and semantics (he likes to read his own writing, and hates to see you screw it up). Frank Bean is tenured faculty, and one can only assume he gets a free pass at UMA because he has professional connections in banking and/or state government. I can't imagine what the university would want with him apart from that. On the positive side, he's an entertaining personality. Just don't get on his bad side. Do NOT criticize him! He's prone to meanness and derision, tempered only by a spit-eating grin.
